Watch this episodeThat day, he came back smelling faintly of sweet perfume. The scent always made my head ache. It was Syrah's perfume. After that, I started smelling it on Kale all the time.
Sorry, bub. I got busy and forgot. One apology, and he acted like that settled everything. On our anniversary, I watched the dinner I'd made go cold, then reheated it again. All I got was a call from Kale, breathing hard on the other end.
I could faintly hear Sierra laughing in the background. Babe, don't wait up tonight. The new place just opened. I need to show the new girl I was always making excuses for him, telling myself he was busy and that he had no choice. It wasn't until today that I finally saw the truth, but it was already too late.
The memories vanish, snapping me back to the present. By the time I get back from the cemetery, it's already night. Kale has friends over. When he sees me come in, he grabs a drink and walks right past me.
I follow him, wanting to ask why he never came to the cemetery, but he ignores me. He heads straight to the balcony and clicks glasses with Wes. I hear every word they say. You really think it's okay not to visit Vila's parents' graves today?
It's fine. I told Sarah this is our last fling before the wedding. Tonight, I'm all hers.
